I didn't see it posted, so I thought I would state the obvious and relate that the new City Hall completed. I understand that on the 7th of August the new City Hall will open to the public.
Here are the directions:
From the previous City Hall (3900 Southern Blvd SE) to the new City Hall (3200 Civic Center Circle NE) you will head west on Southern Blvd. to Unser Blvd. Make a right on Unser Blvd. and you will travel on Unser Blvd. for several miles until you reach Main Street. Make a right on Main Street and proceed east toward City Hall.
I've heard people saying that the new City Hall is too far. Here's my $.02 worth:
We are a new city. We are growing. The city as it has been has been centered around the gateway to Rio Rancho on the South end, but the realistic view of the city center in the future is where the new city hall is now. We can't live in the past. We have to accept that our city is on the move, and the center will not be far away in the future, but right in the middle of everything!
So, let's get behind the plan, and not rally against it with negative comments.
Does any one know what they are building on King Blvd? Is it a grocery store? It is zoned for commercial use and its being build by Bradbury and Strad, not sure if thats right but they are building something big and its not new homes. Its located were King turns into a double lane going west. If its a Smiths it could attract more buyers for existing homes in the N. Meadows area. Any info would be great!
